Art Beat in Amsterdam.  Get Involved

On November 5th, during the official Museum Night in
Amsterdam, when all the ‘regular’ museums and galleries are trying to win the
hearts of the public, Red Bull and a group of progressive cultural producers
from the Post CS building will be throwing a guerrilla event called href="http://www.ilove11.nl/artbeat">ART BEAT. ART BEAT celebrates the kind
of arts & contemporary culture that is made by the ‘young and the
unstoppable’ world wide, with or without the approval or recognition of the
official art world.

ART BEAT would like to call on viewers of the
Wooster Collective to be part of this statement. How? Street Artists world wide
can send high res images of their work and Art Beat will beam it onto the
landmark Post CS building with the help of Skudi Optix from Berlin. Skudi Optix
specialises in ‘Wild Beaming on Big Buildings’ using incredibly powerful
projectors and trucks with massive generators. Art Beat plans to run a ‘slide
show’ of a size that Amsterdam has never seen before, on both sides of the Post
CS building, during the whole museum night from 7 PM till 5 AM the next
morning.

The Post CS building is a huge stand-alone former postal
service head office next to Central Station, now temporarily used by mostly
culturally pioneering parties. It houses the temporary Stedelijk Museum (SMCS)
of modern art, as well as gallery W139 and Mediamatic, all official museum night
partners. On the back side of the
building however ART BEAT occupies the
1000 m2 exhibition space BG (groundfloor) and 11, a bar, club, restaurant
covering the whole 11th floor, and all the rest space in between like hallways,
stairways, vides, elevators and even the parking lot.

Art Beat will
be photographing and documenting the slide show and can send selected
participants digital photos of their work as it is beamed on the building.
