posters from Starsky from Marseille, we’ve been receiving emails from people
around the world asking for more. It took us a little while, but we were
finally able to track Starsky down in his flat in Aix en Provence. He was kind
enough to send us a ton of new pictures, many of which we’ve linked to below.
Starsky also sent us his vitals, as well as the Q’s to our A’s.

Starsky - “The A’s To Our Q’s”
Wooster: How did you get started in creating art for the
street?
Starsky: My first creations were cars (batmobil, cops
car, the Pope’s car, firemen trucks) stuck on sign posts. I liked the way they
were totaly integrated into the urban landscape. The message was kind of hidden,
but actually really delivered. i think it’s just because of that, lots of my
“cars” are still present.
Wooster: What originally inspired
you to do the car from Starsky and Hutch?
Starsky: As i just
said, my first works were based on several cars but very quickly the car from
Starsky & Hutch took the top, for these reasons: in lots of countries, if you
describe a red car with a white stripe, it makes people think of ” Starsky &
Hutch “, this TV show has been and still is the most broadcasted in the world.
It really became the symbol of a past period, of a generation. Each time I see
this car, i can see myself 20 years younger singing the motion and copying the
wheel spin noise in front of my TV.—The second reason is more for esthetics,
the red with white stripe has really strong impact and can be declined on
several supports. I don’t think I’m over the red and white car yet.
/>Wooster: What other street artists do you most admire and why?
/>
Starsky: I’m not part of the grafiti or graph world, It’s a
brand new universe for me. I learn a lot every day and it takes time and
knowledge to really appreciate this art. The guys I do prefer are alexone,

"http://www.eltono.com/home_eng.php3/">el tono,
"http://www.wkinteract.com">wk, space invader, obey,
mkan, 108.
Wooster:
What’s your favorite city, neighborhood, or block, to post and/or to see street
art?
Starsky: All cities have an interest, but i do prefer the
northern Europ cities, i’m really found of what was already been made in street
arts, in these cities. I think my works would fit perfectly in this spirit.
/>
Wooster: What inspires you now?
Starsky: Red,
White colors, and a Ford Torino. The clue point for me is the ” concept ” i
can’t put something in the street if it is not related with the place, the
background and even news.
